Message from Sarah Lee, Chair of the NYSEDC Board of Directors

It is an honor to write my first message as Chair of the Board at the New York State Economic Development Council  (NYSEDC).  At this passing of the gavel, I want to take a moment to reflect on the tremendous achievements of my predecessor, Jamie Johnson and his leadership for the past two years. Under his leadership and the work of Ryan and his team, NYSEDC is in a strong position to move into its next phase as a thought leader, advocate and promoter of Economic Development not only in New York State but in the U.S.  Accordingly, I want to extend my appreciation to the Board, our members and partner organizations who share our vision and mission to enhance economic activity across New York State.

As Chair I hope to contribute to our continued growth and success of NYSEDC and also inspire a commitment to excellence by bringing people together to share learn and grow. Our industry is at a crucial juncture, and I hope to guide us forward in achieving our strategic objectives and ensuring that NYSEDC is here supporting the never-ending journey to excellence for the next generation of economic developers.
In closing, I would like to express my gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering dedication, commitment and hard work in making NYSEDC the premier organization for the exchange of knowledge and excellence. Together, we have accomplished remarkable achievements and expanded our impact. Let us work collaboratively to leverage our insights and experiences for the benefit of our organization and the communities we serve.

Remember, as members of this organization, your ideas matter. Collaborate, learn, and grow together as you seek innovative solutions to the challenges that lie ahead. NYSEDC’s goal is to empower you to confidently do impactful work in your community.
