With help from the Nassau County IDA, the Paint Applicator Corp. of America will construct a 21,300-square-foot addition to its existing 91,250-square-foot facility.

With help from the Rensselaer County IDA, a new video game studio accelerator is closer to its $5M fundraising goal.

NYPA has opened their Utica Visitor Center. 

The Seneca County Industrial Development Agency is exploring the possibility of a new site for an industrial park.

With help from the Brookhaven IDA, Winters Bros. Waste Systems has closed on its purchase of 228 acres in Yaphank, where it plans to develop 2.5 million square feet of industrial space.

The Town of Bethlehem IDA is issuing COVID-19 relief grants to small businesses.

RFP

The town of Kingston has issued an RFP for an independent consultant to assist in the creation of an Economic Recovery Plan for the City of Kingston. Proposals are due on June 23.


National and International News

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development said the global economy is expected to recover from the coronavirus pandemic faster than expected this year, as vaccinations in advanced economies and an enormous fiscal stimulus package in the United States unleash pent-up business activity and job creation.

NYSERDA Updates

An additional $30 million is now available through NYSERDA's DriveClean Rebate program.

NYSERDA has announced $5.4 million is available to develop and support Integrated Energy Data Resource. 

NYSERDA and Confederation of Danish Industry (DI), Denmark’s largest private business and employers’ organization, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) designed to enhance collaboration on decarbonizing high-rise buildings in New York State.

 

Reports

A United for Medical Research report finds that in New York, NIH funding to researchers in Fiscal Year 2020 supported 39,722 jobs and $7.904 billion of economic activity.
