Blackman Plumbing Supply Company

Blackman PlumbingBlackman Plumbing Supply Company (Blackman) employs approximately 160 and averages over $167m in annual sales of various plumbing, heating and cooling supplies. In 2008, Blackman purchased a 204,689 sf building as its regional headquarters in an effort to consolidate their corporate offices, warehouse, and distribution needs.

Project Need (problem)

Blackman needed to convert an outdated 1960's era industrial building into a modern, state of the art warehouse and distribution facility. The existing fourteen foot ceilings were raised to forty feet and the company invested a total of $26 million for the purchase and conversion.

Project Solution

Blackman received tax assistance from the Town of Islip Industrial Development Agency. Further, the Islip Town Board authorized a change of zone to Industrial II to allow for needed outside storage.
