Ithaca College's Gateway Center

main_imageCollege campuses around the country are taking strides toward sustainability in their efforts to be environmentally, socially, and fiscally sound. Committed to building a sustainable future, Ithaca College developed a comprehensive sustainability initiative, linking environmentally responsible practices to all campus endeavors. The Gateway Building is part of this vision.

This project was funded by Civic Facilities Bonds.

Project Need (problem)

Ithaca College needed to create a new building to house its admissions and administration offices. The building also needed to fit into the college’s Comprehensive Environmental Plan that was created in 2001.

Project Solution

The 60,000 square foot building houses the college’s admissions and administration offices and has received LEED Platinum rating. This is the highest level attainable in the LEED rating system.
