Aeon Nexus

main_imageAeon Nexus Corporation, headquartered in Washington DC, is technology based consulting firm providing procurement/spend management services. The company needed a branch location in the northeast U.S. capable of meeting rigorous telecom and IT requirements, to service its multi-national clients and capture new business in the Northeast. The company wanted to locate in a smaller metro area that would provide affordability and easy access to key northeast markets; while delivering a high quality of life for relocating executives and to attract key "knowledge worker" talent in the future.

Project Need (problem)

Through key contacts, EDC met with key company executives to promote a Glens Falls location. This proved successful and the company purchased a 6,600 SF (plus basement) historic building in downtown Glens Falls for its Northeast location. The building, a former office supply company site, needed extensive renovations to accommodate Aeon Nexus' technology infrastructure needs as to fuction as a 'high tech' regional hub for their business.

Project Solution

EDC Warren County worked in conjunction with economic partners to deliver a mix of incentives including Empire Zone program incentives, and grants from New York State and National Grid. Aeon Nexus purchased the three-story building and began renovations. The renovations included finishing the upper two floors as Class A space for the company; finishing the ground floor for future retail or office space; and renovating the lower level into a unique club known as the Gryphon Room, for corporate meetings, employee gatherings, and social events and the community at large. In total, Aeon Nexus invested over $800,000 into the building which is now a showcase location in downtown Glens Falls. Aeon Nexus, incorporated historic elements of the existing structure into a state of the art design that provides enanced telecom, security and IT infrastructure. Today, Aeon Nexus employs a total of 8 professionals at this facility.
